What do I need to shop with at Mood Shine?
A valid, government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, state ID) that shows you are 21 years or older.
Cash or a debit card
Medical patients should also bring a valid, IL government-issued medical cannabis card to receive our medical patient discount of 30% off.
What are your hours of operation?
We are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday
And 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
What forms of identification do you accept?
Per the state of Illinois, all acceptable forms of identification must be government-issued.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash at all Mood Shine locations. Additionally, we provide ATMs onsite and most locations accept debit cards. Contact your dispensary to confirm what forms of payment they can accept. Please note there is a small fee to use our onsite ATMs and debit processing.

What taxes are charged for Illinois adult-use purchasers?
Illinois’s adult use tax rate is based upon which product is being purchased in addition to regular sales tax for that location. Here is the breakdown of taxes per category
10% tax on cannabis products with 35% THC or less
25% tax on cannabis products with 35% THC or more
20% tax on THC-infused cannabis products (edibles, tonics, liquids)
8-11% tax on all cannabis products, set by each town and county a store is located in.
The prices on the Illinois menus are displayed as pre-taxed
How much weed can I buy in IL?
30 grams of cannabis flower
5 grams of cannabis concentrate
500 mg of THC for infused products
Non-residents over the age of 21 may legally possess
15 grams of cannabis flower
2.5 grams of cannabis concentrate
250 mg of THC for infused products
Can I purchase with a medical card from another state?
Although Illinois does have a medical cannabis program, it does not allow for reciprocity at this time.
Those with medical cards from other states are welcome to purchase from the Adult Use menu.
Are there rules for how I can transport cannabis in a vehicle?
While a motor vehicle is in operation, cannabis must be in a sealed, odor-proof, child-resistant container.
It is a Class A misdemeanor to transport cannabis in any other type of container.
Cannabis cannot be used in a motor vehicle and should not be transported across state lines.
Where can I smoke weed in Illinois?
Private Use Only: Smoke cannabis in private spaces where smoking or vaporizing is permitted. Public smoking is illegal under state and local laws.
Check Rental Agreements: Before smoking in rented properties, review lease and building agreements.
Driving Restrictions: It is illegal to consume or smoke cannabis while driving or riding in a vehicle.
Public Consumption: Cannabis use is prohibited in public spaces, government buildings, parks, and any state or local government property.
Near Minors: Consumption is not allowed near anyone under 21 who is not a registered medical patient.
Smoke-Free Act: The Smoke-Free Illinois Act applies to smoking cannabis as well.
Safety Concerns: You cannot engage in tasks that may lead to negligence or professional misconduct while under the influence, including driving.
